IB-Spectacle de Théâtre: LYSISTRATA de Aristophanes

15 - 16 - 17 mars 2012

A Greek Drama by Aristophanes

How do women convince men to stop fighting wars?

In ancient Greece, men ran society. While they were off fighting
wars, women were left home to deal with the consequences.

Democracy was for wealthy men only and women
didn't have the right to vote. That was then. Things have
changed! Or have they?

How many women sit in boardrooms today? Why do they
earn considerably less working comparable jobs to men?
Would the world be a more peaceful place if women were in
charge?

Aristophanes was a playwright of ancient Athens (446 BC-
ca. 386 BC) and has been said to recreate the life of his
countrymen more convincingly than any other author. Was he
the first feminist writer?

Come and see how
"Greece (is) saved... by the women"
