Administration of the school The Waldorf school is run by a registered non-profit organisation called "Veräin fir Waldorfpädagogik Lëtzebuerg asbl". The organisation's Executive Board takes care of the school's legal and financial issues while the teaching body is in charge of all pedagogical matters. The "school leadership conference" (SLK) is composed of teachers elected by the teaching staff. It deals with all pedagogical issues, such as educational content and objectives and teacher training. Decisions are made independent of external (state) intervention, so that the school can remain in line with the principles of Waldorf pedagogy. The SLK also designs the curriculum and recruits new teachers. The State school inspector regularly checks the Waldorf school's compliance with the legal provisions and with the general standard of teaching.
Matters which affect both legal or financial and educational questions are taken up in joint bi-weekly meetings of the SLK and the Executive Board.
Important matters concerning the school as a whole are dealt with and decided at the General Assembly of the non-profit organisation, whose members are parents and teachers as well as anyone else interested in the Waldorf school Luxembourg. An extra-ordinary assembly of students, teachers and parents has been called twice so far to decide on exceptional questions.
The daily running of the school is taken care of by the secretary's office. |
