The parents' role at the Waldorf school Luxembourg
Waldorf education works best if it is understood and appreciated by the parents and if the same principles are applied both at home and at school. undefined Teachers are constantly willing to explain and discuss their educational approach: at regularly occuring parents evenings, during visits to the child's home and of course in one-on-one talks with the parents.
There are many opportunities for parents to participate in the life of the school. Organising festivals and events, participating in educational work groups or becoming involved in school committees are but a few examples.
The parents circle - comprised of two elected parent representatives per class - is an important component of the school. It acts as a consultative body to the school's board and the teachers committee on all matters of school life.
Work groups are formed, as needed, to handle specific topics or problems. Parents' professional and personal expertise is always welcome in these. |
